Download Application to Volunteer or Foster • Volunteer/Foster Application You can help ResQpaws Volunteer Org. by doing one or all of the following things:

• Network and spread the word about pets needing homes.
• Foster a pet until their forever home is found.
• Permanently adopt a shelter pet or one of our foster pets.
• Help at the Sutter Animal Services shelter any day of the week. You can help in the office, clean the kennels/cages, walk dogs, or spend time with any of the pets by playing with them or just petting them.
• Donate an item from the ResQpaws Wishlist.
• Clean our cat area at PetSmart in the mornings, before they open.
• Take shelter laundry home to do.
• Donate vaccines.
• Handle a pet at an adoption event. We can only bring 1 shelter dog per volunteer and some bring their foster pets, so we can save a lot more lives with help from all of you.
• Perform home checks for potential fosters/adopters in your area.
• Help with fundraising events.
• Transport pets to their fosters or adopters.
• Sponsor a shelter pet. Some pets need sponsorship money to assist with vetting, spay/neuter, and/or transportation. The shelter is overcrowded & will euthanize to make more room, so we need to raise these funds to get pets out right away. Sponsorship also allows us to assist rescues in paying fees to have urgent shelter pets vetted & transported to them so that they can find forever homes!
• Sponsor a foster pet. We are not yet able to provide our fosters with everything they need, so we could really use sponsors to cover the costs of spaying/neutering, vaccinations, food, etc. for some of our fosters.

Age Restrictions You must be at least 18 years old to volunteer at the shelter. If you would like to handle pets at events, you should be at least 16 and will need a parent to accompany you until you are 18 years old. You must be at least 16 years old to volunteer at fundraisers.
Volunteering If you're interested in becoming a ResQpaws volunteer, please fill out the ResQpaws Volunteer Application and bring it with you to our next event or send it to info@ResQpaws.org. Once you are approved as a volunteer, you will be added to our private group on Facebook, where volunteers communicate with each other and plan events. Please note that filling out an application does not immediately make you a ResQpaws volunteer! Once a volunteer coordinator has received your application, they will contact you to set up an orientation at the shelter. Topics will include, but are not limited to, protocol (both at the shelter & within our group), our code of ethics, ResQpaws expectations, and shelter procedures. We will also discuss any questions you may have about ResQpaws and what we do to save lives! In order to handle a dog at our adoption event, you must shadow a leader your first time. Remember to RSVP to our events on Facebook or by e-mail so we can bring a shelter pet for you to hang out with! Fostering

If you are interested in becoming a foster, please fill out the volunteer application, as well as the foster application (the second part of the volunteer application), and submit that for approval, to be followed by a home check.
